I will be 54 on sunday and for the first time a little over over a month ago a doctor tested me for diabetes. I had started sleeping all day and dizzy and I fell 3 times this year on my back, one time breaking a foot. So my doc tested me for my blood sugar and it was sky high. Now I have a glucose meter where I could test my own before breakfast and 2 hrs after dinner. It has been high most of the time but this morning it was extremely good.

Does anyone else have diabetes II? That just means adult onset diabetes. If so I would like to hear your story with diabetes.

I will be posting articles about diabetes and I will try to make them not so boring. LOL

Well I hope things start getting better soon mahjong...diabetes runs in my family and my grandmother who is now 87 has it as well .. she also went blind about 8 years ago.

I've heard about people going blind from diabetes. I am sorry about your grandmother.

The thing about diabetes is it fluctuates. One day it is lower and one day it is higher. Mine was staying high and I was watching my diet and that didnt help so my doc finally gave me a pill for it and it seems to help esp at night and that had been my worst time.

I have a positive attitude however and I know I will beat it.

for the most part diabetes is the same as anyone else. It can be too high or t88 low I don't know .I don't know why I felt so bad today this morning my reading was 107 which was fantastic. Just now it was 288 which was terribly high. I am like Jewell. I don't want to think of me as anyone different. I am positive I will get over this. I have not been able to type today so i wll try tomorrow.

I don't understand why my levels are so low in the morning and so high at night. This morning it was 95 which is extrememely low. When I feel more like it I will post some links.Pls don't feel sorry for me. With a positive mind, a diet and the right kind of meds I will get over it. God will heal me.
