The Order of Chaos Empty
PostSubject: The Order of Chaos   The Order of Chaos Icon_minitimeFri Aug 22, 2008 11:15 am

Here's a small story I'm making through my E-Mail.

Rave it or rant about it, it doesn't matter -- all feedback is appreciated!

PS: If you do not like violence, death, destruction, or evil, please do not read the following.

Due to the mature content of this story, adult supervision is recommended (jk). Wink

Many of those of the mortal human realm believe of themselves as the superiority of their galaxy; only book's explain the myths and legends that dwell in shadows and feed on the fear of those who are weak enough to believe in the wicked ways of witches, werewolves, and vampires. But what that does lurk in the human houses is a force that they cannot even begin to comprehend; a presence that serves the soul purpose of teleportation between realms.

Yes, realms -- the realms of Chaos, Balance, and Order -- the three dimensions that create what the mortals call Earth and the universe. Without these dimensions, the world would rip apart, the very fabric of time unwinding and would soon stop. No mortal, no creature, in existence could stop these forces from destroying the universe as we know it; and it was a matter of time until the patience broke and the stress between the gods of Chaos, Balance, and Order broke; which appearing to break free of their pleasant and struggling features.

Burok, the god of Chaos was smart, powerful, and wanted to rid the universe of all happiness and enslave every beast and mortal that faced him. Selica, the goddess of Balance, was created when a small battle between Chaos and Order began to destroy all, and so Balance must occur in order to ensure that the universe was not corrupted. And finally, the god of Order, Inspat, wishes for Chaos to leave.

It was a rare occasion when a God or Goddess tampered with the presence of mortals and beasts, but when Selica began to believe a disturbance between Chaos and Order, she struck out -- sending Burok into the deepest lava pit in Mars and Inspat into the highest mountain on Venus; Earth, housing Selica, separating the two power-generating Gods. She began to ponder that if the God's broke free of their prisons, then it would be a constant war between Chaos and Order, so she created an impenetrable boundary that walled Earth from Venus and Mars.

Nevertheless, the power of Burok and Inspat were never to be questioned -- and they soon found a way to create portals to Earth, sending their powerful beasts and monsters to create havoc and ensure order. Selica, not surprisingly, was furious and locked the portals in their place. Hundreds of thousands of portals are still intact and locked, and the monsters that were sent into Earth remained.

The monsters of Burok are creations of horror and fear -- his followers are dragons, zombies, vampires, ogres, goblins, and wizards and witches; while the allies of Inspat are winged horses, unicorns, elves, leprechauns, gigantic missile-shooting turtles, and serpents that can glide through the air. Selica, being the goddess of Balance, prefers not to manipulate creatures into her gain, rather than using her powers to succeed.

And one of these portals are about to allow themself to be noticed.

Chapter 1

"Hang on, Samantha. I've got to step under a doorway or something," called Sara Beth to her cell phone, her best friend on the other line. "You can't imagine how rainy it is in New York; it's been raining since noon and hasn't let up. I swear, it's going to flood. That's why I'm going to take an air plane to Maryland in a few hours." A distant rumbling of thunder and a flash of lightning shook the air.

"It can't be that bad, Sara." replied Samantha, wrapping her hair in a towel. The warm shower she took minutes ago felt little compared to the bearing heat of the outside.

"That's because you live California!" cried Sara. "It's always sunny. Here in the 'financial capital of the world', it's wet, rainy, and cold. And Ben -," Sara's boyfriend "- isn't even here to keep me company! He has this stupid meeting in the Empire State Building or something, and it is tearing me to shreds what I can do in a city of shops and retail stores. But nevertheless, I have to be off. I promised Ben I'd get him a nice jacket and quite honestly, it's going to be hard to choose!"

"Well Sara, I wish you the best of luck on your adventure and don't get stuck in the city that always rains." Samantha said. Sara believed she heard giggling on the other end. And at that, the conversation ended and Sara walked off, her high-heels clicking and clacking against the pavement.

After several hours later -- and several hundred dollars later -- Sara emerged from a clothing store, the smell of freshly designed shirts, shoes, and clothing fell out of the door way like a perfume and Sara's eyes met the dark and gray on-slot of the gloomy weather once more.

Puddle after puddle, drop after drop; the rain continued and further grew. The drizzling that occurred hours ago was now a terenchal downpour that little rodents living in the sewers feared. Sara groaned and her eyes flew into the sky as an air plane zoomed past her, the air vibrating once more. However, all was not at peace; as the tip of the plane began to go down and soon was entirely vertical. It was going to crash!

A clash of lights and a roar like a thousand lions ripped through the several blocks as the plane nose-dived into a sky-scraper only hundreds of feet away from where Ben was discussing with several other employers of his company. Screams fell upon the area, and Sara's eyes widened once more into fright as the moments before her, the moments when she was happy, yet contempt with the rain, swirled and formed into a growing panic as she realized that the plane was flying perfectly, without a hitch, before it hit.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 2

It was around 6:00 PM when Ben emerged into the doorway of the hotel, seeing Sara wrapped around in a blanket and hudded on the couch. She was crying; her tears falling like the rain outside. She was shaking, her eyes glued to the television set in front of her, announcing the terrible news that had occured just a very few hours ago. Samantha, surpisingly, was also there. Her eyes scanning the media center, sitting on the elegant ember chair.

"...and what was amazing was that the plane reported nothing of mechanical or terroristic values during or on the flight to New York, which was going to fly back to Maryland. Several on-sight accounts linked that the flight was prepared to land at the appropriate time and location, although citizens on the streets noticed that the plane took a dramatic drop into one of the television stations near the Empire State Building.

We have here Joe Paroé, who was one of the designers of the airplane. 'Amazing, yet violent at the same time.'" Joe spoke into the camera, sweat beads falling off of his forehead. "'The plane was designed so that it cannot take that powerful of a dive into anywhere. The system has a failure option that would set the plane in locked auto-pilot if anything of that sort would have occured, ensuring that terrorism was not the answer. But then again, neither was a mechanical failure -- as every 0.7 seconds a mechanic report is sent directly into the airports that records the status of the flight, wings, landing gear... everything.'

So there you have it, New Yorkers and everyone who is watching. If it was not terroism, or a mechanical failure, then what would it be? Vote now on our website..." and the television screen went black.

"Ben..." Sara coughed, and began. "What are you doing here early?"

"Samantha called me before she arrived her, apparently." Ben glanced at Samantha, and went back to looking at Sara. "I didn't want you to be scared. If you were on that flight before, or the plane did it while you were on it -"

Samantha peered at the darkness of the room and of the sadness that was engulfing everyone and spoke up, flipping on on the light switch next to her. "Who wants some popcorn? I sure do! And anyway," Samantha called, entering the kitchen. "There are loose and connections that end all the time between airplanes and the air ports -- I'm sure it was a glitch."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 3

But it wasn't a glitch. It wasn't even close.

Burok sat atop his bloodened, red throne, eyeing the goblins that slaved themselves to please Burok in his empire, located in his underworld. He grinned successfuly, his lips curling into a demonic snarl. Although the crash he caused killed only few, it started a dominoe effect that would hammer the world with fear and chaos. And although Selica would soon discover the cause of the airplane crash, his plan would already be set fourth and it would be too late to stop him.

Burok glanced upon his right, where a small and sniveling goblin raised his hand -- curved, yellow nails extending towards Burok -- showing the great master a single gold coin. The small creature's eyes widened, his pupils shrinking as Burok stood up and began to walk towards the goblin. Burok exchanged glances with a dark-robed wizard a few yards away from the throne, nodding his head.

Burok took his hands and wrapped them around the goblin's neck; his knuckles becoming white as he began to crush the neck of the puny and weak creature that wished to obtain such a gold coin, one that rightfully belonged to Burok. The goblin reached for Burok's hands, trying to loosen the grip, although the iron-like hands that were slowly crushing the life of the goblin showed no mercy. Within another second, a sick and loud snap rang the air, and the goblins hand's fell limp; the coin falling to the dirty ground below.

Burok threw the goblin's lifeless body to the ground, snatching the coin. He remembered how soon, how very soon, it would be until the portals opened once more and his army roamed the world.

______________________

Surely, Inspat wouldn't have been so decieved at something that Selica would have mistaken so quickly.

Behind Inspat stood an army of his followers; hundreds of thousands of his allies formed into one giant army that would wipe clean the slate of chaos in the world. His army consisted of thousands of soldiers, archers, pike-bearers, and magical users -- all which were well-armed and were not to take any prisoners. Inspat's front and foremost flank was entirely of unicorns and pike-bearers which were to ram into the enemy and wipe out their front rows.

However, Inspat had hidden a more deadly surprise that would lay waste to Burok's armies: his water serpents that flew in the sky would drop explosives on the enemies army, destroying vast amounts of the enemy within only limited amounts. This gift to Burok would surely come in handy when his enemies' army was bunched together like sardines.

Inspat's head general, Garnool, stood next to him. His sword held high, his battle cry vibrated the air like an earthquake, "In the name of Order!" And the creatures stood their ground, digging their feet into the soft damp earth not wet by rain, but wet by the tears of joy and happiness.
