I have the hardest time spelling that word...oh well my post is not about the terrible way I spell LOL but about my grandmother who has diabetes.. she went blind from all these things that were caused by diabetes and I was wondering if others have gone blind too. She does pretty good at 85 years of age and blind... but I just wish there were more things she could do being blind. If you have any suggestions please let me know

I found out 2 wks ago I have diabetes and you spelled it right. I have had extreme dry eyes for a while. 2 months ago i went to an opthmalogist and I could barely see anything. He did give me some bifocals without lines and comp glasses. Im not blind but my nurse is sending me for a test for dry eyes and one for diabetes. I have heard of ppl going blind from diabetes but i don't know how they managed themselves. I hope your relative gets along really well. She is in my thougts and prayers.

My nurse just put me on a diet for my diabetes 2 wks ago. She said eat normally what I eat just half of it. I had to go to my doc today b/c my legs and ankles and feet hurt so bad. He saw my high blood levels at night and i asked what it meant. you must have eaten something he said.then i got him. i told him i had lost 5 lbs since i found out i had diabetes. it's never enough for docs tho. he said keep it up.argh!!!!!!!!!!!!I did find out my hurting was from my cholesterol med. Now i have to take co-q-10 and when the pain goes away I start a new cholerstol med which he gave me samples for 5 months. It has been a long day

My blood levels continue to be high esp at night. Just a little high in the AM. I am following my cholesterol diet too. I don't know what is going on b/c I have type II diabetes which means your levels can get so low you can go into a coma.

My blood levels are finally getting a lot better but I have to take a med twice a day for it.

I have heard you really have to watch for sores on your feet and toes and really watch your vision.
